I just finished watching this series and noticed that it's strangely like Romeo and Juliet.
In Basilisk, two lovers(Oboro and Gennosuke) are from two different ninja clans who despised each other for 400 years. Romeo and Juliet is about 2 lovers from two different families who hate eachother.
Like in Romeo & Juliet, members of each faction are out for revenge vs someone from the opposing side.
Also, at the end of Basilisk, Oboro stabs herself in the heart and then Gennosuke stabs himself with the same knife right afterward much like in the end of Romeo & Juliet where they drink from the same poisonous cup.
Just somethin I thought about lol

I couldn't agree more. This anime is awesome and I always recommend it to people.
Yeah I especially liked it because it wasn't biased toward any side any a lot of people died when I least expected it so it was pretty unpredictable too.
