Afro Samurai is probably one of my favorite anime of all time. It's based on a doujinshi, runs 5 episodes and Afro, the lead character, is voiced by Samuel L. Jackson.
If you haven't seen this yet, I did a short review: Afro Samurai
For those who are fans, here's some good news for you: Afro Samurai Sequel

My Siggy is in progress... just you wait... :3
That's what I thought too, at first. But after my boyfriend recommended it to me, plus the fact that I can't resist anything "samurai", I finally decided to give it a shot.
..and what can I say? I totally love it.

Haha Never Let The Bad Bring You Down
@solking Me too... I'm dying of anticipation lol. I wonder who this "seductive yet deadly" female opponent is.
On a side note, it's cool that they're bringing in a female fighter. Sure, the fights were great in the first Afro Samurai (with Kuma and Justice) but I think it just needs more of that "I-will-seduce-you-then-kill-you" theme to it..
@sasuke So you like these kinds of anime too? Then I'm sure we're gonna get along really well ^_^

I'm not sure if I really want to watch it or not. There's been so much hype about it which makes me wonder if there's any attention to the plot or if it's all just about violence and the fact that Sam. L. Jackson is a voice actor. I'll pry try it at some point but I'm really skeptical that it has any actual depth.
There's actually a plot in Afro Samurai. It's more on getting revenge for Afro rather than being Number 1. Sure, there's a lot of violence, but despite that, it kept me really hanging onto the story, finding out about Afro's past and all.
