![]() ![]() | Akira I just watched Akira again for the first time in a long time. It is amazing how well this movie stands up next to its modern day counterparts. Katsuhiro Otomo really knew what he was doing when he set the tone for modern anime. I love this movie and always will. The animation is clean and detailed. How do you guys feel this movie holds up today? now 18 almost 19 years later |

![]() ![]() | Re: Akira I love all the works of Otomo Katsuhiro; he's great director/artist... And yes, Akira is just phenomenal. I haven't seen the movie, but I still have those huge six volumes - spent thousands of yen on those. I still read them, every now and then. Check out Suchimuboi [Steamboy], it's brilliantly directed, I think.
