I wouldn't panic too much.

"Retirement" is the oldest marketting ploy in the Japanese celebrity playbook. Miyazaki Hayao has "retired" three times in 12 years (making at least two "last films").

but i figure, he's done so many great things that he can retire however many times he wants! he certainly changed my childhood!
