Thread: anime that finished without warning!

Grumble Grumble Grumble

It looks like all of the series you've mentioned have committed the very common Anime sin of catchig up with the ongoing Manga series that their based on... When this happens, the directors and produces have the following choices...

1. Wrap up the series incomplete
2. Make your own ending, (Which makes the Manga fans very unhappy)
3. Make filler episodes (which is hard to do for a series budgeted for a finite number of episodes!)

ah so it seems as though non of them will be later continued? or perhaps another series released to continue where the previous one had left off?

a real shame! i think some of them were superb animes!

Kare Kano and Berserk come to mind for me. Both of those ended without any warning. I felt so dissatisfied. I was so into to them only to be let down.

Air Gear's last episode didn't seem like it is the final one to me at all ... cuz you know a plot contains many obstacles and the trident was the last in the series ... the main plot was half ended (when Ikki became the sky king) but the whole main flow didn't ... i mean they have to conquer the Troupaium tower and the sleeping forest(Ringo and her sisters) with in and then the war against Genesis(Simca ,nue and Spitfire and many others) which joined them .. there's a lot to be seen yet ... but as Len-san mentioned and summed nicely ... i just hope the series would continue soon enough though ...

I got to agree, Kare Kano
ended up without
knowing what happened to
Yuki and Souichiro After..
I guess sequels are up for sometime
of the following year I believe,

Other series I found that
ends without warning is

Ouran High School Host Club
-I dont know what
happened to the club after
tamaki returned. and whom Haruhi
got engaged(whether Kyouya or Tamaki).

and

Gakuen Alice
-it ended up with the final exam and
Mikan and the rest is going
to be High School students but until
that point I dont know
whats next..
I didnt even know whom Mikan fall
in love, whether is Ruka or Natsume..

I would have to pass it on to Genshiken. It ended with only a handful of episodes shown and i would have liked to have seen just a couple of more episodes of it because it was quite entertaining considering it did'nt deal with mechanical robots or superpowered beings like Gouku. It was all about what it meant to be a true blooded otaku sans the perversions.

maybe another anime that finished off immaturely for me would have to be FMA. I didn't even know what happened to the Elric brothers if they became reunited or what. If anyone of you knows what happened or if there was a sequel to it please let me know, i really wanna know cos it was so sad to watch it especially because it dealt with human mortality and other heavy issues
