If you are looking for another long running, action/comedy series like Naturo or Bleach, check out One Piece. Be warned, many people are turned off to the unique character designs or the semi slow start, but if you give it a chance I think it is one of the best series out there by far.

Rurouni Kenshin is a classic and if you have not seen it, give it a try. The 2nd season in particular is amazing.

    Grumble Grumble Grumble

Now other long running series to consider...

For outright comedy, there's 'Keroro Gunso' (a.k.a. Sgt. Frog) The story of the platoon leader of the advanced alien invasion infiltration squad who gets adopted by a loving earth family, (no really...). First started in 2004, and now approaching 300 TV episodes and 5 theatrical movie releases in Japan...

Sgt. Frog - The Official Anime Website from FUNimation

And for a well written series, there's 'Detective Conan' (a.k.a 'Case Closed'), a classic 'who done it?' detective series, with nearly all the episodes being murder mysteries... First started in 1996, and still going strong today, with over 560 episodes, and 15 (!!!) theatrical movie releases...

well I too started with the DB franchise and from there moved to Yu Yu Hakusho which I found to be in my top 5 of favorite anime. definitely worth checking out IMO. Bleach and Gundam Wing are also good choices.

i would have to recommend one piece as i started with DBZ and then i went on to one piece ... it is a very good long running anime and manga with extreamly good storyline and lots of action ... i admit it has a slowish start but once it gets into it its unstoppable to stop watching =]
