Thread: anime ...nerd?

It's totally normal to like anime! In our batch, I'm in the official anime group... ^^

So many people around the world like anime. What's wrong with that? Anime rocks!

And for a person like me, who cares what others think? As long as you're happy with yourself, you should be fine!

No judging about what we like is one of what I follow~!

Well dead strait. Im an anime Otaku. But then again im also A Otaku in general for alot of things and its fine with me. Inuyasha rocks btw.

In my opinion, being a nerd and anime/manga are too entirely different things.
Manga still has a bit of a short sighted repution though, many people still think that manga or anime equals porn.

Well, I guess I could see a connection between nerds and anime. It all depends on how much of a fanatic you are. If you're watching more than you're going out, then you could be missing out on some good social interactions, leading to isolation, and then leading to nerdism.

But really, the two things are very different. Not all nerds watch anime, and just because someone likes anime, doesn't mean they are nerd.

By certain people yes, by certain others no. By society's standard, it seems to be depending on the person and how much they put forth for their anime craze.

well, a nerd in my opinion is someone that doesn't get out at all and just sets around studying or reading the dictionary.

I read dictionary just for fun but I'm not feeling myself beeing nerd cos of that.
Beeing nerd needs that you know alot from everything specialy computers.
But watching anime or reading manga doesn't make ya nerd.

it's not necessarily about popularity to. here we have groups that hang together. there are cool groups and nerd groups. i don't like to buy into that sorta thing so i hang with the non conformist's. but even they kinda see it as nerdy. and when me and my friend who likes anime talk about anime the rest of the people we're hanging with will yet again kinda roll their eye and wait till we're done to talk to us . i'm actually pretty lucky i have the friends i do. some people won't even hang with a person who watches anime.
