Anime Opening Video Timeline Project - 1980s

First off, let us all thank Tsurara for starting the project. Now bow! _| ̄|○

The goal: to create a list (as complete as possible) of Youtube videos capturing anime opening sequences from the 1980s to be used for reference purposes, and hopefully give people an easy one-stop shopping spot for previews of shows they might like to check out.

The rules:
—You may only submit one anime intro from only the 1980s per post.
—Videos may not be full episodes or AMVs.
—Include the year of that series in your posts.
—Multiple videos for a single series in a single post will not be accepted; one at a time, please.

Notes:
—Given the potential copyright issues inherent in posting these openings, several are likely to be broken at any given time. If you notice broken links ~ do us a favor and try to find a functional one, reposting it along with a note that the original is broken.

Re: Anime Opening Video Timeline Project - 1980s

Well, this looks rather interesting.

I might be able to get a Samurai Pizza Cats intro on here, but with a Thunder storm rolling in I think I better leave that for a later date. I'm pretty sure it's 1980's. I grew up watching them, along with Technoman, Heman, & a few others...

Re: Anime Opening Video Timeline Project - 1980s

i have 2 video cds of most(if not all) mecha opening credits, from tetsujin28-go to the 1997 mechs( i think it ended on '97 but i can't remember). A friend gave it to me a few years back. All videos were shown in a chronological sequence so i think it will greatly help your cause. I saw the same thing on youtube (or was it veoh?) just a few months ago and it was similar to what i have except that it was cut in several parts, i think it was divided in decades...

I'll try to search those videos later on veoh and youtube...I just can't remember what the exact keyphrase is, and i dunno if those sites still have it...If i can't find it online i'll try to look for my copy.

But anyway... from '82:

kikou kantai dairugger xv

A.K.A. vehicle voltron...But yeah the Japanese original is much better if ya ask me...

Re: Anime Opening Video Timeline Project - 1980s

Whoops, kinda forgot about this. Sorry!

I'm not sure what year it's from, but here's Samurai Pizza Cats. I loved watching this as a kid...
"Will Somebody please cue that boyd..."

If someone could put a date to it, that'd be great. I'll edit this post if I can if someone does.

Could it be this one by any chance? I didn't get to watch the whole thing (this months non-slowed internet allowance already ran out), but I stumbled on it while looking at the other clip you linked...

What you'r looking for?

Christ, I remember that show... But that started airing in 1990. The 1990s Anime OP Thread has the JP OP, but I think that the Eng dub of Samurai Pizza Cats deserves a spot, since the American localization pretty much rewrote the whole series...

Added Magical Angel Creamy Mami of 1983.

Re: Anime Opening Video Timeline Project - 1980s

This is the anime that started all, it also inspired other great hit series such as Ramma 1/2, Love Hina and others. Enjoy ^^
