Thread: anyone recommend an anime to watch?

I recommend Chronicles of the Wings a.k.a Tsubasa Chronicles. It have quite a story there(I read the manga before and the anime should be as good as the manga too... I think...)

Cowboy Bebop - licensed
Outlaw Star - licensed
Saikano - licensed
Gunslinger Girl - licensed
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - unlicensed(I believe) + torture, blood, and violence
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - unlicensed
Death Note - unlicensed (Its not finished yet and I have only seen the first 4 episodes so couldn't tell you if there is anything to watch out for)
Black Lagoon - licensed + Blood and violence

I was thinking about saying "Sure, I know a lot of 'good anime'." and just leaving it at that but I decided to be nice and gave you names with a few warnings. Since you didn't specify anything I didn't feel like giving you summaries. Look them up if you want.

gunparade march is good to watch, i mean its sometimes show pain and love but mostly action but the most important is that two people dont know they are in love with each other, it touched me though so i recommend this one

Black Lagoon has 'GENEON USA' in it's credits, so even though there has been no official announcement, it's safe to assume that Black Lagoon already has been licensed. Lately, more and more anime series have been pre-licensed before production. A trend that was started with the 'Sin' and 'Ghost in the Shell' movie, and continued with 'Ninja Scroll TV', 'Kalaido Star', 'Guyver', 'Samurai Gun', and the recent 'Ergo Proxy' and 'Hellsing Ultimate' series...

Not sure if the original poster even cares anymore but I would recommend Samurai 7,Wolf's Rain,Trinity Blood,and Bleach. Those are all fairly new shows is the reason I didn't name more. I am not going to tell you about them but I am sure that you won't have a problem finding info on them. If your looking for anime movies I would tell you to check out Karas:The Prophecy,Appleseed, and Jin-Roh.
