i love the movie sprited away. i must have watched it a billlion times. i think its one of studio ghibli best works. i luv how, hiko( i think thats how u spell it) 4 gets his own nane, it makes the plot of the story so much more interesting. and that the witch didnt notice the hamster ws her son, i laughed so hard wen i saw that! n i also luv how the centipide man is her " uncle" oh i jus love that movie! i think i mite go watch it now.in the end wen wshe was 2 pic out which one of those pigs were hewr parents i thought that the 2 in the front row were her parents! boi was i rong! i think that sprited away was a great movie n that im sure more great movies will b made by studio ghibli. but they dont come out in theates like sprited away, but i hope the nxt one does.

i have always been fond of Porco Rosso and Laputa being the sci-fi/airplane fan but my wife votes for Howls moving castle with Nausicaa for for her 2nd favorite...yeah, howl is one of his best...
Don't Panic
Technically: Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi/Spirited Away (the studio's more recent features have skimped on budget)
Storywise: Kurenai Buta/Porco Rosso was probably the simplest, tightest and most satisfyingly told
Iconically/Nostalgia-wise: Totoro
I'm surprised to see so many say "Howl" since it was rather poorly recieved in Japan. (So was Gedo Senki). The two most recent have gotten the coldest shoulder critically and in terms of aftertaste/lingering affection. I'm inclined to agree that they were both pretty weak compared to the others (though I enjoyed Howl more than most).
really? no way,... it was poorly in japan...i thought it's good...the story is nice...it's kinda sweet...but not much action though...more to fantasy...
Porco rosco is weird to me.. but oh well.. ^^ it is good too..
Spirited away...is a very cool anime..one of my favs.. ^^
and i just watched Nausicaa of the valley of the wind recently..
Princess Monoke is a cool anime too the story is interesting and so was the action and stuff.. but the storyline movement was very slow in the beggining...the paced fastens as it is at the climax though...

i dont really know why i like nausicaa so much
laputa is 1 of the best storys EVER! in my opinion
i found my neighbour totoro a bit boring and lacking in story
spirited is another good 1....they are all so good (except totoro)
Re: best Studio Ghibli movie My faves are Spirited Away and Laputa. Then Princess Monoke, i've acually never evem seen Nausica and the Valley of the wind.
Princess Mononoke or Porco Rosso would be mine. I like Princess Mononoke because it really does have one of the more deep plots as far as his movies go, while Spirited Away, and Howls, etc are WONDERFUL they really don't stand out as much to me as something more meaningful....
Porco Rosso, I just like it's weird and pretty unique story....A pig flying a plane....How could you go wrong?
