    Black Lagoon (Season 1 & 2)

    Grumble Grumble Grumble

In preparation for the August 19 release of the first Volume of Black Lagoon 2nd season, as well as the re release of all 3 volumes of the first season, FUNimation has transplanted the old GENEON Black Lagoon website, into its own, with a new 2nd season trailer...

The Offical Black Lagoon Anime Website from FUNimation

For those of you who haven't seen the series, you can describe it as a darker and grittier, (and much more violent) Cowboy Bebop type series. The main character, who starts out as a mild mannered Japanese office cubicle worker, is sent out on a courier mission, and kidnapped by a band of vicious modern day pirates who ply the waters off of South East Asia. But betrayed and abandoned by his employer, the worker, (nicknamed Rock by the pirates) snaps, and decides to join and assist the pirates for survival...

Having collected the first 3 DVDs of this series, I've been waiting for the GENEON USA orphan series to be picked up by another distributor and have the missing 2nd half released... So how many other AO members plan to purchase the DVDs, and what do you think of the series so far...

I follow the manga intently and the anime was top notch as well... Right until the second part of Second Barrage. Oh man oh man, the Engrish was so horrific it felt like trying to fill up the root canal in ever single one of my teeth with hydrochloric acid.

    Re: Black Lagoon (Season 1 & 2)

I followed the series upon its original release and got what I could before Geneon USA kicked the bucket. Never followed the second season, but I did enjoy the first season. The characters didn't seem to be generic, or at least had enough meat to them that they rose above the generic stereotype.
