Cool Can manga/anime be represented as real life people?

    Hi guys! =D

I'm currently undertaking a project (the Extended Project Qualification) based on something of interest, so I chose to research on Anime and Manga!

I need to find some information and research on these topics though....
    So far I thought of
    • Cosplay
    • Popular manga comics
    • Manga/Anime that has similar resemblence to real life people?
    • Portraiture
    • Any good artists that you know of?

Can any of you guys give me some more ideas, feedback, suggestions and advice please!
It will be much appreciated! >-<''

    Grumble Grumble Grumble

There are Manga series that are based on real life and recent events.... Set your browser to search for 'Densha Otoko'...

You also might want to get your hands on the Anime series known as 'Comic Party'. Even though its originally based on a 'hentai' console dating simulation game, the anime series does do a good job on explaining the 'Doujinshi' (fan written Manga) circuit in Japan...

(A little bit of Manga trivia here... the Manga artist team known as 'CLAMP' first got their start as a High School doujinshi circle, drawing hentai fan manga of current popular series... Their quality was so good that remaining members went independent and commercial, and continue to this day...)

Personally, I'm not into Manga myself, but I will mention one significant one, which is 'Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind', written by Hayao Miyazaki, (director of the Oscar winning Anime feature 'Spirited Away') which was originally started to garner interest and funding for the his breakout Anime feature films of the same name...
