I like dark-gothic style with good story developement. a man agaist the world that turned it back on him, helpless romantic that sort of stuff. I like when a series starts out happy but gradually darkens. I dont like ones that are drown out too long and have minimal plot. I like series where you have to fallow the story from episode to episode to understand it. Mechas are pretty kool too. Drama is a must. I really like Elfen Lied, The 08th MS Team, Stardust Memories that type of anime.

Regarding the "Space Opera" genre, I saw an anime movie recently that might interest you. It is called "Memories" and it is quite good.

Romantic Commedy like Midori days probably.

Its a toss up really between that and the real hack em and slice em up action.

I like the action and the deep stuff. kinda like Evangilan. or Chobits. but i like most nemis because they are fun and alot difrent than american stuff. so the action and the deep stuff.

well of course there needs to be violence, lol what is anime without violence lol, and add some blood and gore..then put in some super cool action scenes (like intense fighting) and some romance is good -^_^- and of course there always, always has to have some hots guys and some random plot twists

My favorite genre would probably be fantasy. I love being able to watch something that could absolutely never happen in reality after living in reality for so long. Right now Bleach and Fushigi Yuugi would be high on my list. I also like vampire stories. Although that reaches beyond anime and into practically anything and everything vampirish. I recently got into yaoi cause a friend introduced me. Lots of people ask me why I like watching/reading about boys on boys since I am hetero, and I think its because the stories for the most part are really really romantic with a hint of "oh they shouldn't be doing that". Plus, for the most part they aren't acting like the stereotype that is out there now. I dunno just my thoughts.
