I haven't bought new DVD's in a while...(since I'm back in college and not working) but usually now I just download anime and watch it. Anime DVD's are usually expensive so I only buy them when they go on sale or if I really like a series.
I used to buy anime (when I had a good paying job) and before my ENTIRE DVD COLLECTION WAS STOLEN, along with other goods.
Since then, I have a hard time buying DVD's.
I'm all for supporting the industry. But as I make half the salary I used to, and the fact the wife curbs any of my old spending habits, my purchases are now few and far between.
New question: With legal downloads on the horizon, how will that influence your buying habits?

I generally just rent anime. There is so much out there, and it is hard to guess (sometimes) what I will like. I would just hate to spend a lot of money on a dvd, and then find out that I don't like it. I don't have the spare time or hard drive space to download, so renting works for me.
i buy anime dvds all the time, especially when adv has theyre sells >.< yummy cheap.
