Escaflowne the movie
Saint Seiya: Legend of Crimson Youth
Sadowskills

Life and Death are always one and the sameEVEN IF A RAINBOW IS BROKEN THERE'S STILL THE SKY
both of them are just great as you mentioned "they are a must to watch" but the series in my opinion are better ... compare the characters and the personalities of both of them, and for the straight thing it depends on type .. a movie is different from a series and you know that ... and for the series OSTs they're greater than the ones in the movie (the ones in the movie are good too but the series' are better though they came from the same person Yoko Kanno*great indeed^_^*)

I know they are many differences between the movie and the series but to be honest I could live with out some of them. While I watch the series I felt that some part of the series actually disturbed the flow of the story.
though this is not the place to be arguing about "The Vision of Escaflowne" but still ... it's a journey story which means later episodes happenings does not occur without the first ones ,if you want give an example of an episode which doesn't concern the whole flow of the story to show what you mean so i may get and understand your point
