When i watched my first anime i was pretty young so i don't remember the exact one that i saw first but i think its between Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and DBZ. I think I was between age 6 and 8 but i didnt know they were anime at first I just thought they were regular cartoons. When I got older I eventually grew out of those and didnt watch them anymore until i was 12 and I saw Inuyasha on Adult Swim and after I seen the first episode I was hooked. Shortly after I learned what anime was and started watching as many as i could, i fell in love with it lol and started watching shows like Rurouni Kenshin and .Hack//sign and YuYu Hakusho. I havn't looked back since =)

Anime was introduced to me through Fushigi Yuugi. It was aired in one of our local channels . Got so hooked up with the story and so as the characters, and it was really funny. From then on, I've started to appreciate anime.

I think the first time I saw an anime was when I were 4 or 5 and I was really sick so I always had to stay at home and watch TV one day I watched TV and came accross the Anime Ranma ½ watched it a little and I liked it I watched it every day when I was Sick but when I became healthy again i stopped watching it

my Secon encounter was with Dragonball and Dragonball Z I used to watch it every eavning with some friends of mine but then they stopped showing it so I started reading the mange but at some time I needed my money for other things and couldn´t afford to buy them anymore

my Third encouter was a few years ago I watched TV and found Ranma ½ again and watched it and at some points I couldn´r stop laughing because I hadn´t really understod most of the jokes with 4 or 5 years but now I were really in to it and started look for anime everywhere and found lots of it and that was kind of the time that It became a real hobby of some kind

When I was in elementary school I had seen a few episodes of Gundam Wing, but I didn't realize what it was and didn't watch it for long.
Then in high school one of my friends loaned me Excel Saga, and I watched that. I didn't realize it was anime though, or even that it was related to Japan (I watched the whole thing in English Dub, incredibly screechy voice acting and all).
Then, once I was in college, one day I looked up Excel Saga on the internet, and stumbled across a little site with perhaps between one and two dozen reviews done by a single person. It also described what anime was and what it had to offer that wasn't usually offered by American television. I looked through the reviews, and decided to watch Fruits Basket. I absolutely loved it, but was still a little uncertain about anime as a whole. So I watched Now and Then, Here and There, and I adored that one too. The combination of all 4 of those shows were enough to hook me on anime, and I've almost constantly been going through at least one series ever since.

man what a difficult question for me, since i have the worst of memory.
my first anime to be honest i don't remember, proably dragonballz or sailor moon. my generation was lucky enough to be born when north american began to main stream animes. i grew up watching animes side by side those cartoons. so for the longest time i didn't know it was anime. i was lucky enough to have a huge anime fan for a sister, so she was a big influence on me. we'd stay up late watching tapes of dbz. it wasn't until grade 4 maybe 5 that i realized i was an anime fan. and thats was when gundam wing, inu yasha, escaflowne and yugioh and them came out, so with no shojo to watch i became a big shonen fan(despite being a girl).

i am big shonen mecha fan and im proud of it.
