idiots characters

anyone notice that in every anime there is at least one idiot some where in the show? or a person who is slow in the brain department.

in simpson homer is the idiot
in naruto, ... <-- he the idiot
in samurai champloo its mugen

im amazed that these people ever made it this far into the serise without being near death (beside mugen, almost got killed)

yeah, thats just the old tried and true formula for anything. there is always a comic relief or some person whose sole purpose is to lighten the mood. Almost any anime you watch has it, slam dunk has sakuragi and his gang, cowboy bebop has ed, trigun has vash at times, and a few others lend in. its in nearly everything.

yeah that's true ,though i think it's important to have an idiotic character in the show they lighten the pressure of the tension in the show like Marler(Ah! My Goddess) , Edward(Full Metal Alchemist \sometimes) ,all hosts in Ouran High School Host Club (except kyouya and kaoru) and almost in every anime show

if you want a idiot with some fire power behind him, theres always the "irresponsble captain taylor"...he was a bum and idiot and a half, but it was great fun watching him work in true form...

First of all Mugen isn't an idiot. He's just billegerent. They bring humor to the series and that's why they're created.

lol of course there will be idiot characters..there ones in real life too..it make the show more interesting and you got to admit its pretty dang funny to watch what they'll do next...

Shinji Ikari, from Evangelion. its terrible.. i mean, come on, not only is he a super-pansy, but lots of other thinks make him an uber-idiot for shure.

Kotohona from School Days. I think she is stupid because event though she knows Makoto is cheating on her with Saionji, she stills loves the guy.

About Urashima Keitaro being an idiot. I think keitaro is more like an innocent person that doesn't know anything about chicks.
