What's this, Mr. Miyata didn't recommend "Now and then, here and there"!
    I'm shocked.

Now I reserve that recommendation for members who claim to be 'goth' or 'emo' for traumatic shock therapy...

    We have those at AO?

But Now and then, here and there is still a good example of an intelligent anime as far as I'm concerned.

But with the caveat that this series still occupies the position as THE MOST BRUTAL ANIME SERIES in my personal collection. Be forewarned that this series covers SERIOUS ADULT RATED THEMES and should not be taken lightly...

I wouldn't call it the most brutal anime ever but it's just that it sucker punches you in the nads because you totally don't expect it.

I liked "Now and then, here and there"... I watched when I saw Hassun and Len mention it yesterday... I got curious and saw it... I liked it... it is smart and is something that I can call a "reality"... it's som' som' blood... not to bad for my taste...
but as Hassun said it is a pretty interesting anime to watch

Much agreed. GITS: SAC is definitely something worth looking in to. I'm still trying to buy the DVDs so I can stop borrowing from friends.
