    Karin

Ok that doesn't sound like the name of an anime but it is. I started watching Karin after I read most of the manga Chibi Vampire. I think its pretty good, but I'd like someone else's opinion. Do you guys like Karin?

Our love will go on until the end of time. I will always be yours and you will be mine.

    Grumble Grumble Grumble

'Karin' is a unique and enjoyable series, and daring enough to be the first vampire romantic comedy series that I know of. It's a pity that the DVD release of this series is now in question with the withdrawal of GENEON USA from the Region 1 market, abandoning the production and distribution of anime series currently in release...

I saw Karin a while back and fell in love with it. It's an interesting take on the "vampire anime", very cute, entertaining, good animation, lovable characters, and flat out hilarious. I was so excited whenever I found out it was releasing in America and absolutely depressed when I heard that it's license was in question.

Representatives from the US dubbing studio Ocean have stated that they have the contract and will dub to completion unfinished GENEON USA series 'Black Lagoon' and 'Saiunkoku', which is an encouraging sign. 'Karin' is dubbed Odex, which is a Singapore firm, (which makes it less likely unofficial 'leaks' will make it on the Internet), but since their costs are less, chances are good that they will complete the 'Karin' dub as well... The only thing thats left is what remains of GENEON USA to find a nice Region distributor for the series. (which could take a half year or more...)

I was under the impression from an article that I read that ADV would take over distrubition for all of Geneon's anime, that once it was decided that it would still be dubbed everything else was already taken care of (or would be shortly)....Was I under the wrong impression

You missed the news reports that the deal fell apart at the last minute...

Yes but I also read reports after those came out that the deals did not collapse completely....and they just simply went back to the drawing board.
Honestly I think that is the most annoying part of all of this....There is no good information out there, every article I have found I have found another that counters it....Since it's "just anime" there is no reliable news sources paying any attention to this.
Not only that but Geneon won't say ANYTHING about what's going on, nor will ADV or Bandai (who I have heard is also up for taking over some of their series).....

Well again I loved this series and I an waiting and watching to see what it's fate (and the fate of 24 other series I love and do not own by the company).... Honestly though I have heard the most likely they will all just be canceled let the contracts end and then the Japanese companies will re-sale them to American ones, and with a series as popular as this though it might be awhile I think this is not the last we have heard of it.

    Good News?

It sounds very much like a restructure rather then a closing to me.....I could be wrong.
