Manga provides more story and more character depth, while anime provides more action and maybe a little more emotion. Somethings, some emotions, are better felt when it is heard and seen, and not read.
But anime has a lot of flaws.
For one: the voices. Both incarnations of an anime, the original and the dub, can have terrible to good voice quality. What people don't realize is that even Japanese voice actors can be bad. Most non-Japanese anime fans are not fluent in the language so they cannot distinguish what is good or bad unlike when they hear it in their own language, then all of a sudden they know that a voice doesn't fit.
The animation quality can be rushed and the essence of the manga can be either mangled or greatly represented. A good port from manga to anime takes everything and doesn't miss a thing from a manga. Most anime out there suffer from still shots. It saves money just using the same frame over and over again or when a person is simply just thinking or listening to an offscreen character, it's easier to just use a still frame of a character just staring at the camera or some other object.
And then there's the story. An anime sometimes compresses a story that has lasted at the most 13 volumes and condenses it into a season of 26 episodes or for some series, 13 episodes. 13 volumes. Almost 140+ chapters filled with story and character development either edited or omitted just to fit the season length. This usually leads to an unsatisfying ending or a rushed ending.
The only highlights of an anime is the music. For most series, that is the only thing that they can get right. For most.
The only cons about a manga are probably the artist's own art style or perhaps the fact that you actually have to read, but that shouldn't be such a nuisance.
I love my girlfriend.
Even though InnerHell tried hard to make this a decent thread I'm closing it anyway.
