Thread: Modern anime or old fashioned anime

Avoid posting large images in the forum. Use the gallery for all your image posting and commenting. This is to keep the amount of scrolling down and to keep the board as clean as possible.

Also, you need to explain what ''old school'' anime is? Dororo? Triton of the Sea? Evangelion? Fooly Cooly? People are going to start mentioning anime not that old if you or somebody doesn't.

old school anime means it was made early like 1970-80's or something

I really enjoy older anime such as Silent Mobius and Robot Carnival. There's just something about the animation, direction, and overall plot that grabs my attention and holds it.

Its hard to say which kind of anime is better. The old anime is what put anime on the map. Most of the new anime have been spin-offs or based on the older ones. The older ones are still around today because they are so good.

The newer anime can be fresh and original though. The is amazing as well. I must say with technology these days the newer anime runs looks wonderful and the animation just flows smoothly. Its really a treat for the eyes and ears. Its hard to say which is better. I prefer to watch both though.

I really go with the times, but I can look back and say that old school cartooning/anime got me where I am today. Now my fondest old school that I thought was awesome, and now I look back and smile about was the old, old school D&D series, that was on Sat. Morning. That was awesome back in the day.
