Well, I hope there hasn't been a tread like this before.
Anyhow, I watched Neon Genisis Evangelion a while back, and I think I had to see it 2 to 3 times before I accually understood most of it, so I was wondering, what's the most complex anime you've ever seen. Just give it a rating out of Ten.
I'd give Evangelion about a 9/10 (But maybe I'm just stupid :p1: ).
i would have to give Evangelion a 10/10 but i think the most confusing anime is Paranoia Agent
Keep in mind that confusing anime aren't necessarily the most complex anime.

As far as complex anime genres goes, the most 'complex' would be the true hard-cored Cyberpunk genre, (with such notable examples as 'Key the Metal Idol', 'Serial Experiment Lain' and the recent 'Texhnolyze').
The psychological 'God Mecha' genre is almost as complex and is more well known, (which includes 'Neon Genesis Evangelion', 'RahXephon', 'Dual: Parallel Troubles' and 'Fafner'), but also has more misses and failures, (such as the poorly done 'Brain Powered', and the incomplete 'DevaDasy'...)
I give evangelion a 5/10. The most confusing one I can think is "Serial Experiment Lain". I give it a 10/10 in confusing and a 10/10 in kick A.
Erm......Don't know where Hassun and Len were but regardless...
Moving to Anime/Manga because it deals with....Anime of all things.

which i give 10/10 btw, id give it about a 13 but i cant
Ergo Proxy, at the end and in the anime its self it referse to some heavy info. and when i read about it (the explanation at the end) i was heavy Stunned.
so i'd give it a 8/10
but cyber punk really get me WTFing heavy, my mans who understand what the hell they are on are some Big Brained bois
