    Re: The most complex anime?

I should say almost ALL Yoshitoshi Abe's work are complex, like Lain, Haibane Renmei or Texhnolyze...
It must be his specialty to make such animes, and that's prove of his talent.
I'm not sure, but are Ghibli's animes also considered complicated?? Thou I haven't watch them yet..

Lives link to one another, and the world continues...

NGE is not that complex or confusing, I saw it once got everything that everyone was convinced I would miss....ergo I was not impressed
Lain and Tex, those two really have a lot of complexity

Undoubtedly, Evangelion is quite confusing. It is however not much "complex" compared to 'Serial Experiment Lain' since you cannot even grasp any of its motives. It's abstract, at least to me.

Well yeah i agree on tht lain is abstract as well, i think that is the way the artist wanted it.. i geuss mainly to make big discussions on the seires and each persons veiw of the series. But its not really complex since its onyl 13 episodes and such a small story. More complex anime are the ones that have 50+ episodes and go into more detail.

I have to agree with Evengelion being complex. I would give it a 9/10. I think Noir is actually complex as well. It has some parts where its understandable. But for most of the time I just didn't get it. Not until I reached the end of the series I finally understood what it was about. I give it a 8/10.

Maybe...Fullmetal alchemist... I understand what it's about... But the story is just alittle complex, with many things happening...

    Re: The most complex anime?

FMA does have a lot going on but the way they present it doesn't seem like it's complex....to me it seems like the creators had no idea what they wanted to do with the subplots and so just randomly change it at a whim when another idea came up.
