Need a little help in finding an anime

Yo. It's been a while.

Anyways, I've been lookin for a particular anime that I saw awhile back, and I wondering if anyone could help me with the name of this anime.

As far as the story goes, it's about this young girl who goes to the beach and ends up finding this star-shaped creature. Turns out this star-shaped creature is really a dragon and there are more dragons out there. It's been awhile since I've seen this anime, so the rest of it is really vague. I just remember that at the beginning of it, I thought it was a little kid's anime, and then towards the end of the eps that I had thinking... Woah, this is one very disturbing anime...

Ummm... I also remember that it only had one season, and that the second season had been announced with no release date set. I really don't remember anything else, but hopefully somebody here will know what anime I'm trying to find.

Narutaru? Then I read "beach" and "dragons", but the finding a weird creature and the disturbing part fits.

ah right, that's the anime! yeah, I do recall the creatures in the anime being called ryu. Thanks alot for the help.
