Hard to find good stuff nowadays. I'm mostly into Horror, suspense, and mafia type anime. Action is good too. I guess you could say I'm into "dark" anime. Here's some of what I've already seen.

so have you see the award winning 'Gankutsuou', the Sci-Fi remake of 'The Count of Monte Cristo'. This is easily the best Sci-Fi series ever produced by Studio GONZO. And FUNimation has posted all the episodes for Region 1 Video Streaming here...

If you want dark/horror, then you should get into Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni. It's mostly suspense, but can terrify you if you pay close attention.

I feel like a broken record sometimes but I must recommend Basilisk and Gurann Lagann. They are excellent and Basilisk is indeed dark. Also, if it is dark you want watch Elfin Leid. All the ones I recommended were single season animes and I think Elfin Leid was only 14 episodes I think.
I watched that a couple of months ago. It was pretty trippy :P
i would have to recomend Black Blood Brothers, Koukaku no regios, and blue gender. they are great anime.

well if you like Higurashi, then I would recommend Umineko. It's by the same people and incredibly well crafted, give it a look sometime

Sweet. I'm gonna go check that one out now. I was hoping I could find a lot more anime like that one
