New Kino's Journey movie.

Coming out soon in Japan. The anime that I found to be one of the best to come out in years is actually having a second movie. One of the few anime to actually have depth to it. Buddhist themes included. Kino looks older. >: )

The novels should still be coming out soon in the US and such. >_>

Anime News Network Lists the Kino's Journey Movie as 30 minutes in length, (short for a single DVD releas) 2005, and unlicensed... I'm still looking for confirmation of a second Kino's Journey Movie... so far there's nothing on any of the anime news sites...

Gosh, I didn't even watch the first one!

I do like Kino No Tabi, though - slow moving but very thought-provoking. Unique. Gahhh. Now I've gotta go look for that first movie... and eagerly await the release of the second one (albeit super short, as Len says

Japanese novelist Keiichi Shigusawa's "Kino No Tabi" (Kino's Journey) novel series, first released in Japan in 200 will be adapted to a new animated feature film. This will mark the 3rd animation adaptation and 2nd movie adaptation. The specific story to be told in the new work is currently unknown. The novel series is published by Dengeki Bunko in Japan and follows the unique travels of a young adventurer named Kino as well as Kino's traveling companion, a talking motorcycle named Hermes. Together, they visit many different places throughout their adventures and meet many different people. They spend three days at each location they visit before heading out to their next destination. Everyone they encounter during their journey is somewhat compassionate and very admirable.

That an original illustration?

It's nice.

Kino's awfully... flat, though. +__+ I'm guessing if this is a big enough hit producers will actually consider making a live-action version of Kino No Tabi. ^^ (I can only hope...)

I guess not.

It makes her all the cooler. When I first started watching the anime I thought she was a guy... as did many others.

It's still nearly impossible to convince newcomers to a series that Kino is a female. I have quite the difficulty doing it.
