Dark Raven

This movie was awesome and launched a series. The live action movie is still going around. I hope they don't mess it up if it does get made. A great anime with a good story. I liked how the main female is poison. She can't ever be with anyone. Each of the villains are wilder than the last. The man with the bees, the snake woman, the giant, and more. I want to see it again. Any fans here? Care to review it or talk about upcoming Ninja Scroll projects like the live action movie?

yeah, the movie kicked ass
the series on the other hand, meh...
I've got the Ninja Scroll TV series and I've seen all the episodes
and all I have to say is "blah"
it's nice sometimes, but it suffers from many flaws
first, repetition and predictability
second, characters you can't really feel for (unlike characters like Spike from Cowboy Bebop and Kiba from Wolf's Rain)
and there's a whole lot of things wrong with the anime series
I did find it funny about how short the average life span of a villain in Ninja Scroll
you meet a brand new bad guy and you think he'll be a major part of the story and plot and you're in awe at the coolness
but then all of a sudden, he or she dies in the same episode that [s]he is introduced in
I found that to be quite humorous
the music was pretty, but sometimes dull
the ending wasn't that great
am I being too harsh?
...nonetheless, it was an okay series
doesn't really live up to the OVA, but oh well... it's all good
good times

I didn't know they were making a live ninja scroll movie...I never was into live reproduction of anime...

As much as I liked the original anime movie, I really doubt any new ninja scroll show/movie will come out. I didn't get to see the TV series, but I read some bad reviews about it. Perhaps you could give us your opinion on the TV series if you've watched it.

I have the movie. I never got to see the series. They want like $49.99 for the DVD's. I waited for the boxset. But I have read reviews that it was not as good as the movie. That's why I posted a pic of the movie and not the series.

Several animes are going to the live action big screen. Battle Angel Alita is one. I keep hearing Ninja Scroll in the short list of animes to the big screen. If they do make it I hope it stays true to the movie here and not something just lame.

Yes. It was action packed. I loved the tree scenes where the giant throws the shuriken up into the trees and it rains blood.

The snake girl. O.o What a scene that was. O.o
