If I buy anime, it's the real thing. Starting a collection of pirated stuff just isn't a collection to me.
if you have make collections of anime series, will you buy from shops? or you download from other source? or you burn it from your friends? what will you do?

When it comes to anime, for me, having the real deal doesn't matter. I will usually just watch the show once, and thats the end of it. Therefore I pretty much just download anime or buy pirated copies at the Asian mall in Toronto. I respect people wanting to have authentic anime collections, but I'm not willing to spend $40 per DVD for anime.
i buy my anime wholesale. it's a heckuva lot cheaper and it's not illegal, so it makes me happy. i can usually get a complete series for only $30. or even $20.
Its really not the question of what people prefer, the "original" is the only choice...downloading and burning copies are a big no-no but many people still do it. I'm not one to talk as I used to download anime a while back and even almost got into fan-subbing. Technically all that is illegal...or so I hear, I never go and look into the specific laws concerning all this matter.
Buying licensed anime DVDs is showing our appreciation to the creators and it becomes funds for future titles. SUPPORT THEM by BUYING DVDs...no money? Get a job, pick up more hours, *blah*blah*blah* Life isnt fair, OK?

well me I buy my anime all real not any if that crappy resolution shti they call
Anime it has to be real when i buy it.
But if my friends have anime that I dont have i'll burn it.
great sig by Lasura thanks heaps
I always buy the originals when they come out in the US, sometimes on that DeepDiscount if my local stores are trying to rip their customers off anime DVDs.
As cheap as pirated DVDs are, those kinds of purchases aren't going to help the industry or the creators one bit.
...Where do you buy anime wholesale? I've never heard of that before, do you have connections?
GALERIE : Limited Internet access for certain reasons...

you also might want to watch out for bootleg stuff as well, I got the first season of Full Metal Panic that was only English subs for 20 bucks at a con, only to have ADV actually license it 4 months later and find out that the copy I got was just a cheap knock off (The anime was legit, just the copy I got was fake)
