Thread: Prerequisites For Watching an Anime?

ok for me
1st: Good Plot
2nd: how could you forget the "sounds effect and music element" .. there's animes i was attached too just because of their music
3rd:Great Animation
an anime missing one of those is an anime i'd usually not watch except for the case when one of the elements is way too great compared to other animes to cover the missing one (Ah! My Goddess ,D.N.Angel)
Examples of what i think that includes the three essential elements to me:
The Vision Of Escaflowne ,Chrno Crusade ,Full Metal Alchemist ,Trigun ,Air Gear .. and there's a lot more but not too many

Let me try...

1st: gory deaths
2nd: boobs
3rd: gay people
4th: an antihero

well crap... now all I can watch is Gantz ~_~;

I'd better not have standards at all.

I would say;
1. Some hentai fan-service
2. Lots of blood and dismembering of human flesh
3. Hot looking chicks

An anime show with those characteristics described above sounds ideal to me, though i don't really care what kida plot or story line a show has as long as i like the show it is fine with me.

for me

1. good plot
2. lots of action
3. good music

I pretty much open to anything however I really don't like kid animes.

I agree with you ... the most three important things in anime that controls the quality of the anime are : the plot, the sound effects, and the graphic art ...

1.Dark plots
2.quirky characters
3.pretty pretty animation like Gantkusuou (sp? can't remember)
4.soundtracks (anything Yoko Kanno or the lady who did Noir)
5.Non repetitive episodes (ok sailor moon is my guilty pleasure on that)

If gonzo made/produced/whatever it then chances are i'll watch it

1. I'm pretty easy, but I do think the first thing I notice is the name (if its in English, and sometimes if it sounds really cool in Japanese).
2. It has to make it beyond 5 mins or so mark. Meaning if in the first 5mins its too silly or goofy, I stop watching it...usually.
3. Sometimes just sometimes it'll make it pass the first episode if the opening song/animation is really cool.
4. It doesnt always matter, but if the animation is noticeably more detailed, i know i'll probably like it.

I know these dont really sound much like prerequisites, but like I said, I'm easy. It's not what makes me start watching it that matters, but what makes me keep watching it...lol
