| Why so serious? | Real Life as anime? Have you ever thought of real life as anime? A certain situation happen, and you thought it could be an anime incident? Have you ever thought that your life could be being watched by manga characters, just as we watch their lives in the graphic novels?? Just a curious thought that passed through my mind. I would love to hear what my fellow AO'ers think. |

![]() Credits: 14,779 | Actually yes... I had a best friend, we used to talk and talk for hours. We spent a lot of time together. I had my bf... and He was jealous and he kept ssaying that my bf wasn't treating me as I deserved and stuff... He was right... my bf was being really bad at me... At that time I didn't realize that he liked me... and I liked him... (I felt like in a shonen anime drama) Anyways... I dumped my bf after 5 months... And guess what, my best friend and I ended uo as bf and gf. It was funny 'cos he knows me so good...-even better that I do know myself- that it was "almost perfect." But that's not all the anime drama. I realized that I was comming to the US with the possibility of never return to live in my country... so I had to leave my bf... literaly.... That was a year ago... and today both we feel like there is something missing... each other... but we cannot do anything 'cos the distance... TYPICAL ANIME DRAMA.... "true love separed" ![]()

| Why so serious? | Re: Real Life as anime? Wow lebasiara, what a typical anime drama that is!! I feel terrible that both and you and your best friend/boyfriend had to go through that separation.. I hope you guys see each other soon! As for me, little things in my life could always pass as anime moments... I swear it feels as if I were in a manga and people were reading about me! But nothing as dramatic as your situation, leba. |

Newbie | Re: Real Life as anime? You know how you see a person and they remind you of someone else but you can never figure out who. Well, there is this guy here, I have never talked to him, but he always looked so fimiliar to me and I couldnt figure out why. He is a redhead and I dont know very many redheaded guys. Well I figured out who he reminded me of when I watched Fruits basket one day. He looks alot like Kyo, he's just not as cute. I love it when I find a person that looks or acts like an anime character, it makes me smile and think "ha, anime characters are real. I could really date an anime character." (you know what I mean)

| Why so serious? | Re: Real Life as anime? lol, interseting theory you got there, animejock. I can't say I've had that happen to me, but it'd be very interesting if the day ever came when I see someone who looks like Inuyasha. I guess I can never really compare RL men to anime and manga male characters because manga characters are so much cuter. But I have had instances where RL situations are very similar to those of anime. I believe I posted the following example in another post..but no matter.. I'll state it anyways. Last month I went to a ballet and I saw this piece where a man was dancing with two women. He kept dancing with one of them, but would always go to the other woman every now and then. And everytime he left the original woman, she'd faint or cry or something. He eventually left with the one he'd been dancing with every now and then. That dance so reminded me of the famous Kikyo-Inuyasha-Kagome love triangle. My friend was going to slap me because I kept saying, "Haha...poor kagome.." lol. |

God's Little Girl | Re: Real Life as anime? I've never thought about it to the extent of me being on the telly, watched by anime characters who are now real, but I have sort of seen the world, as it is, as though it's... well, in an animated program. It might sound a bit weird, but it's probably got to do with my artsy-fartsy side, and how I often see my surroundings in a different... light, so to speak. I have this tendency to suddenly "lapse" into a completely different world, where everything looks hand-drawn, or CG-ed, or... well, you get the idea. There is the occasional shock I get from suddenly seeing, say, Nobita walking across the street opposite me. I don't know how it began, and I can't exactly remember when it started happening, but it happens. A lot of deja vu takes place, too.

![]() ![]() Credits: 14,832 | Re: Real Life as anime? Besides the lovey dovey drama I do have Anime like incidents... frequently. I keep on having deja vus and know what's going to happen next, and it does happen that way. Sometimes like Kenshin or Goku [DBZ] my body just umm... you know gets stronger... it just happens. Sometimes I don't get tired at all and react to things which I can't see. [martial arts stuff]
