Now if you want to try a nice Shoujo-Ai series, then you should look at this thread...
http://www.animeonline.net/f159/mari...over-us-39270/
This series just came out in an affordable Japanese + subtitles only collection release
And another series that is much slower and introspective, (and one I'll finish watching this week...) is
The Official ARIA The ANIMATION Website
Another Japanese + sub-title only release... and even though 'ARIA' does have a Sci-Fi background, the series isn't even Sci-Fi at all, and really isn't about anything in particular, just a introspective slice of life series...
Thank you for the sugguestions. I'll be sure to check it out ^^

Hmmm how about Utawaremono. Yes it has a long name that people have trouble pronouncing but what are you gonna do. Its a great series though.
Another good one is Karin from the original manga Chibi Vampire. Its hilarious!Quote:
Utawarerumono is a story centering around the masked protagonist, Hakuoro, who one day is found by a family of two girls and their grandmother in a nearby forest close to their village. He is badly injured and is soon found to have amnesia, so they take him to their home and treat him until he is well again. Hakuoro is soon accepted into their village where he stays and lives with them, but before long Hakuoro finds that life in this village is being oppressed by the greedy emperor who rules over the country their village resides in. Soon after, these negative actions taken towards their village result in him leading a rebellion against the emperor of the country which later lands him to become emperor of a vast new country which is named Tusukuru, after the well-respected woman who helped save his life.
After becoming emperor and things begin to calm down, Hakuoro soon finds out that peace is hard to maintain and finds himself constantly in battle in order to protect the peace of his country and his people. Eventually, he is led into many bloody battles in order to fight for the freedom of all those residing in Tusukuru. Along the way, Hakuoro meets several other strong warriors from several other countries and tribes who are fully accepted into Hakuoro's growing family. Many moments of hardship and laughter ensue as time continues but with Hakuoro leading the way, all others are confident in his ability to lead.
The story's genre is at first a fantasy-style story with heavy Ainu influence, though later develops science fiction themes towards the end. Indeed, it first appears to take place in a fantasy world, fully with magical beings and interesting new species of humans, but it is later revealed that it takes place in a post-apocalyptic Earth's far future.
Quote:
The story revolves around the main character, Karin, the middle child in a family of vampires who immigrated to Japan two centuries earlier. However, Karin is different from the rest of the family in that she produces blood instead of feeding on it; because of this, she has to inject blood by biting someone or else she suffers exaggerated nosebleeds. Because of her unusual condition, Karin lives her life just as an ordinary teenage girl would, despite being considered something of a freak by her family. She is able to venture outside during the day and attend high school, and follows the sleep pattern of normal humans. However, the general peacefulness of her life is disrupted with the arrival of a new transfer student, Kenta Usui.
Any time she goes near him her blood increases. At first she tries to avoid him but it doesn't work since they are in the same class and work in the same restaurant. Kenta begins to think that there is something fishy about Karin and eventually he learns her secret. Karin's elder brother Ren tries to erase his memory but Anju, Karin's younger sister stops him from doing so. She also convinces their parents Henry and Calera to make Kenta their ally, because he can help Karin during the daylight. Karin and Kenta become friends. Kenta helps Karin clean up the mess made by her nosebleeds and Karin prepares him a lunch box (bento) every day.
As the story progresses Kenta and Karin's attachment to one another grows, and so do their problems. First Karin's grandmother Elda breaks free from her coffin (which Calera had sealed her into) and starts wrecking everyone's lives. Except for her bust size, hair length, and hair color she looks identical to Karin, and uses this resemblance to go unnoticed in Karin's school.
She attempts to drink Kenta's blood because she believes humans and vampires cannot coexist. Eventually, she gives up and returns to her casket.
In the anime adaptation, an additional character, Winner Sinclair, is added to the series. Winner is a vampire hunter who falls in love with Karin, while Karin's best friend Maki Tokito falls in love with him.
