I've watched just about every Miyazaki movie ever made. I'm just missing Puss n Boots. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Grrrrrrr.
Spirited Away was lovely, as was Howl's Moving Castle (Howl's cute!). But there is something about Miyazaki's movies that always goes wrong (especially near the end). It's like, the movie builds up to a point where you start to think, "Wow! This is awesome!" and all of a sudden, that one thing happens and you go, "Whaaaaaat?"
For example, the ending of Mononoke Hime. It would have been a lot nicer (and would have generated more "awwww"s from the audience) if San and Ashitake ended up living together instead of apart.
Great music, though. Thumbs up to Joe Hisaishi!
Yeah. I guess he's only trying to make his movie fans cry. LOl. Every one of his movies has such an awful ending. T.T
I have a studio ghibli dvd collection. but i don't seem to have the Castle in the Sky. I've seen the other both movies. Spirited Away was the nicest one since the setting was in another world. Howl's moving Castle was also good. but I was not really astonished. So I say Spirited Away is my favorite among these three. And hey, have you happen to see Princess Mononoke also by Miyazaki? The story was nice in this movie. It was just damn good.^^
I've seen Castle in the Sky, Grave of the Fireflies, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, The Cat Returns, and Howl's Moving Castle. So I've seen like half of his movies I guess lol. He's making Tales from Earthsea? So, that's another based off a book... hmm... I wonder if I'll like it better than Howl's Moving Castle lolOriginally Posted by bloodhawk

Thank you Equinn!! ^-^
Gosh, he's making to many I can't keep track anymore. Haha.
@ bh : There are lots more. You missed quite a number of them.
@ Satoko : He probably does it to appeal to both grown-ups as well as children. I think I prefer his older movies, like Whisper of the Heart and Nausicaa. Beautiful stories.![]()
