The madness is just stripped away from it! I tried both since up to ep 12 its not available in english on Netflix. I got a subbed version to attempt to finish, and no wayyyy can I continue like that!
I didn't say that's totally not good and also it has the good sides and the bad sides ,i suppose that applies to everything in life that is.

I switch back and forth between subbed and dubbed it just depends on do I feel like
reading subtitles but the japanese version always sounds beter.

As for me, I sometimes prefer the subtitled versions of an anime but I'll also watch the dub ... unless it is really awful, then I switch back to the original Japanese track with English subtitles.

Yeah, so do I but for me sometimes it's easier to find it subbed than dubbed. But sometimes I don't like subbed anime cuz I'm to busy reading the subtitles that I end of missing something.

Re: Subbed or Dubbed: Which Do You Prefer?

That has happened to me a couple times or I'll be watching a anime with someone
and its on subtitles and that person asks me what does that say, I say what was said and in the process missed a very important scene and then we have to go back.

But that ain't related that much to "who's fault for being subbed?" lol ,but anyways once you get used to it you won't have any problems and also once you get used to it you'll be learning Japanese eventually without even knowing it.

Re: Subbed or Dubbed: Which Do You Prefer?

It depends of two things: the company in charge of dubb and the serie per ser.
But i prefer subbed with original audio. Have more feeling. Sometimes, the dubs are really bad and you feel, ammm, a "plastic" voices of the characters.
But the subs have their inconvenients. If the company is bad, the subs show some things wrong, and sometimes the fonts are bad, don't have enough color, contrast or size.

But i prefer the subtitles with original audio in japanese.

Re: Subbed or Dubbed: Which Do You Prefer?

i prefer subbed, it sounds sooooooo much better in the original audio
plus, sometimes people that dubbed might get it wrong, and sometimes when they dub they say it either too quick or too slow, makin u wonder whoes syin which part
i was havin trouble tryin to figure out what part was which, and the whole storyline was confusing because someone dubbed this anime

Re: Subbed or Dubbed: Which Do You Prefer?

I am starting to prefer subbed more then dubbed.

What I have found is there is subbed, dubbed, and dual.

The first Samruai Champloo I downloaded was Japanese w/ english sub.

Then I got a dubbed version.

When I found out the dubbed version was actually dual I switched it to japanese w/english sub.

The english sub on the dual was totally different then on a japanese w/ english sub.

So Subbed for me.

Re: Subbed or Dubbed: Which Do You Prefer?

Subbed hands down. wait let me think about it some more. SUBBED.

I mean come on, after you see Furi-Kuri or Full metal alchemist in japanese, then you hear the horrible dubs that dont sound like their characters at all. seriously...who gave Ed and Al redneck voiceovers? totally ruined it for me

The only two exceptions i can think of are Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, well besides their obvious relation to another, it just flowed well as in english as it did in japanese.

Re: Subbed or Dubbed: Which Do You Prefer?

Subbed it is definitly the best.I mean just look at Naruto in ENGLISH!.....no.......

Besides it's fun learning some Japanese words and you get more of the story line.

You can add to the few good dubs : Hellsing and Trigun ... actually those two animes were dubbed better than the original thing ,try and you won't regret it ... but other than those two and few others ,all credit goes for subs.
