Unfortunately?, I'm too perfectionist to watch a dub. Unless it's Studio Ghibli or Samurai Pizza Cats. Samurai Pizza Cats, it's different enough to be seen as a different show from the Japanese version. And fun. Dubs are usually... Well, the Japanese voice actors are just more experienced. Heck, they have schools just for voice-acting. It's just better quality for me, and exactly how the creators intended.

Sometimes the english voice actors rly can spoil the mood an anime wants to make. That rly suck if it is an anime with a strong storyline and deep emotions too. With that multitask at hand.. try to pause the anime to read a long sentance, it's nothing to be ashamed of, I had such troubles in the beginning too but it came to an end the more I watched such subs =). Best of wishes from me, Michael |

One area where I'd like to see dubs better in though would be the "annoying female ditz" characters. Some of those can be ultra cringe-worthy, I dare say. Sure, sometimes the voice is supposed to be grating and annoying, but just not that grating and annoying!

Otaku | Re: Subbed or Dubbed: Which Do You Prefer? Lots of people say they're not getting the "RIGHT and EXACT" words with the dubs...and they say that subs are the "the closest thing you'll ever get" if you can't understand nihonggo..How can people say this when they can't understand the language in the first place? I agree with Mere, i don't really care but i prefer the dubs. Maybe like him, reading all the way is just not so TV for me... If most of you here hate the dubs, i think it's just a matter of location, dubber's talent, and experience...Now i get to agree with ayu, here in the Philippines we really have good dubbers, good in both english and filipino..Good in a sense that we get the right voice for the right character, sometimes they do foolishly and risky but good ad libs. But it only works for anime, asian, and hispanic stuff...I really hate it when Filipinoes dub stuff other than that, it just doesn't sound and look good in a racial(but no racism intended) perspective. |

It is fantastic in english the way characters are portrayed. Two Hands (REvy) would not be the same! Ep 12 with the leprechaun dude and the Chinese chick she called "chinglish" was hilarious!. ....but if you watched it stubbed,, it would've been just another shooting gallery episode. oh well..

![]() Credits: 6,811 | Re: Subbed or Dubbed: Which Do You Prefer? Subbed or dubbed.. :] Easy. If the dub doesn't appeal to me, then the subs are better. But if the anime has dubs and it sounds good, I'd still prefer subs because I just prefer their original voice actors. I think they bring out the characters attitude a little better. <3 subs :]
