Thread: Is Teen Titans really an anime?

I would say it is american, they are drawn in anime but the lip flaps match the english ... whereas japanese is the complete opposite .. ^^

yeah ur right, this topic has been debated b4 and the result was still the same, as i said b4 it is an american immitation

Now anime or animation? I thought like others that it was inspired by (and my friends will cringe when I say it...lol) japanime (that's what I used to call it before a friend frown at me every time I said it), but was considered american animation or a cartoon. I love that cartoon by the way, but wouldnt really consider it anime.

The generally accepted definition (outside of Japan) of Anime, is Animation written and targeted for a Japanese audience. This would classify 'Teen Titans' and the original 'Powerpuff Girls' as a Anime inspired US Cartoon. Anime also seems to have a difrent drawing style, thought some Anime arent really that difrent from Western Animation, typical things of the drawing style of Anime are the big colorful eyes the hairstyle's are also very colorful (pink hair and red eyes are normal in Anime).

Hard to believe but Teen Titans is an anime. It was shocking when I found out pokemon was one. I thought it was normal. But yes Teen Titans is really an anime as you can see.

hmm thats true, but theres more to it than just drawing , i mean anime also has a rich background behind it, its not just a band of kids who save the day every single day but its nore realistic and shows more of a struggle, if its a comedy thats sumthing different but teen titans is supposed to be action so it doesnt fit with anime
