I always looked at it as a "Wannabe-Anime" Show, but I suppose I'm wrong to assume that.

Okay, you really need to pull up your post quality. The last few posts of yours have been reiterating the same thing. This will be an unofficial warning, hopefully I wouldn't have to give you any infraction points. If you are not sure of what I am talking about do review the rules/faqs please.
EDIT: This thread will be closed if staff does not see any more intelligent material added to it.

srry, i get writers block, ill try harder, but back to the topic, well nvm i got nuthin
I love wikipedia so dont bite my head off when I say it, but according to the Wiki anime is a "Japanese style of motion picture animation". If you go by that Teen Titan is a cartoon made in America, so it can't be considered anime.
But I stick with my vote that it's just...well not just...a cartoon, but not just because of the Wiki either. I know nowadays people have their own theory on it, but I grew up in the 80s where you could pretty much tell what was made in Japan and what was considered an American cartoon. You either had Robotech, Project Ako, Akira, and Bubblegum Crisis (just to name a few), which had their own background and storyline, each character had their own background and it was mostly rich in Japanese lore. Usually the planet went to crap in some apocolyptic (cant spell it) sort of way. There was some romantic entanglement or somebody was gonna be avenged and whatever the outcome somebody important to the story was gonna die and then I was gonna cry...lol (unless it was supposed to be a comedy in which case you could only shake your head, point and giggle...If you actually got the Japanese humor...lol). The storyline was eventually gonna have an outcome, hopefully resolved and the story ended.
But in America, you had the Smurfs, Spiderman, GI Joe, and the Wuzzles (again only to name a few), which were very creative, but no hard core violence. If you didnt want your kids watching anything too gory, you could set them down in front of the tv and know that Gargamel was never gonna eat the smurfs and nobody was really gonna die no matter how many times they got shot at with a machine gun. Each episode was solely based on its on merit and you didnt have to have watched it from day one to figure out what was goin on. They could go on and on and on and on...and on and never stop and like they were mass produced lol. No skimpy outfits on women with huge unnormal breasts to offend your kids senses and everything had a happy ending becuz spiderman would always foil whatever plan was made with only a few glitches of stupidity becuz he didnt REALLY think the hobb-goblin was gonna blow up that building like he said he would...lol and Eleroo was gonna figure out eventually what Bumblelion's favorite kinda cake was. We always knew the outcome of each episode, it was the getting to it that mattered...8)
Teen Titans is pretty cool. I dont knock american cartoons at all, cuz I still love american cartoons. We have our own style. Nobody has a monopoly on what's awesome. But TT is american...it's all ours and Japan cant have it...lol. So it couldnt be anime even if it wanted to be. Which it doesnt cuz its ours...lol.

this is out of topic but the very reason why american cartoons are predictable is because of the fcc...they want things to be "easy" because to thier own perspective that cartoons are for small children only and entertaining...mostly funny. not too complex, too serious, too much action, and too real. notice that american cartoons are becoming childish in comparison back then.
YYYEEEEAAAAAAHHHHH!!!
That's true. Is it that the Japanese culture is not as strict and the USA is more strict than they want people to believe? It might also be that we have so many races and cultures in the US that the gov't is always trying not to offend one or the other. Japan pretty much shares the same culture right? I dont know too much about Japan so I dont know if each city or little town has a deviated culture of its own based on lore/history of that town. But I think they share pretty much the same handed down culture, which means they grew up on the stuff so they're used to anime the way it is. They dont have a gov't official goin on national tv saying, "we've offended the Mormons or Muslims or Catholics so they'll be no more religious talk in cartoons" and not just religions but races. Though in that case nobody should EVER watch Adult Swim becuz shows like Family Guy and Boondocks insult everybody and dont really care that they do heh.
Oh and back to TT...I just remembered that their theme song is in Japanese. That group Puffy Ami Yumi sings it. Why is that? Another attempt to confuse you into thinking it's anime? After all, most, if any, american cartoons dont have a soundtrack. You dont usually go around humming the theme to Ben 10...well I do, but most people dont, whereas they make soundtracks from the anime. Do you know how many times I've been caught singing Sayonara Solitia (which is weird becuz other than hello, goodbye, yes, no, excuse me and I'm sorry, I dont know any Japanese)??? It's sad but true. lol. I'm sure if they had Paula Deanda, Brandy, or Aly and AJ collaberate for the soundtrack of Kim Possible we could have our own Pop Idol version of anime soundtracks too lol.

In my mind I can't view it as an anime. To me it just doesn't fit the right criteria. I mean its a great series but it just doesn't have that anime feel to it. To me it doesn't even completely have the look either. Maybe its just a personal prefrence on my part, because it does fit the definition of an anime. It just doesn't feel like it.
