Video Game Anime

What's your favorite anime based from a video game?

Mine would have to be a tie between Fatal Fury and Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. Both have truck-loads of action in them, both contain most of my favorite characters from both games and they stay true to their perspective story lines. Both have some of the greatest animated fight scenes ever and they both are well animated. If I had to rate them both on a scale of 1-10, I'd give them a "Holy S***! This anime rocks!!" LOL.

Well, Pokemon could count as a game based anime, but Naruto? Naw, man. Naruto was an anime WAY before it reached game status. That's a game based from anime. Smash Bros. is more of a cross-over game than anything. There's not even an anime about it! I'm lookin'--SPECIFICALLY--for opinions on anime that is derived from games... Not the other way around. Sorry...

i do like the street fighter IIV. i have the entire series on VHS XD ive never seen fatal fury though

i didnt really care for the final fantasy unlimited or spirits within. they were decent for what they were, but i didnt like them.

final fantasy advent children was really good action wise but i felt it lacked a little in character development... of course you were already supposed to know who all the characters were, but its the principle of the thing.

final fantasy legend of the crystals ova was short but good. i honestly wish it was longer as i do with final fantasy last order. even though that was short, it explained quite a bit, but unfortuneately also asked a lot more questions than it answered

what would you consider .hack >.> anime from game, game from anime, both made at the same time? i liked the anime's but they are a little to slow imo. i like the whole plot though. i thought it was very original despite how they have a lot of similar scifi movies out there

they also made a devil may cry series but i havent heard much about it. anyone know if its any good?

some games i would like to be seen turned into anime would be breath of fire, parasite eve(yes i know they made this into a live action, but it sucked horribly), lunar (silver star story or eternal blue), assassins creed which just came out for ps3, and maybe metal gear
on a side note, what about live action like blood rayne and tomb raider? i know they aren't anime, but they are adaptations of video games

Yeah, Street Fighter II: V was cool in it's own right. I had issues with how they chopped up the plot, but the action was decent, I suppose. I've seen almost every episode, and my best friend has the entire series. I really don't like how they made Ryu act like Goku (DBZ). He ate like him, was all happy go lucky like him... I'm thinkin' to myself, "What? He's gonna shoot a Kamehameha now??" LOL.

FF: Unlimited was... Okay. I haven't seen Advent Children yet, but I hear good things about it.

lol ya. ryu was way to much like goku but i dont think it detracted to much from the anime itself. ya it was choppy in places, but few animes aren't. i don't really care for the ending how they

Now this is incorrect for 'Pokemon', as it was on the original black and white Nintendo Gameboy long before the Anime series was made. Exactly as I had said earlier. ^_^

Before I got into playing Pokemon, I used to watch it everyday when it first came on television. That's how I beat most of the games so fast. Who needs a strategy guide when it's on TV every other day? LOL.

Final Fantasy Advent Children, so cloud was a little emo, but the fight scenes were amazing, so well put together. I mean, sure every action movie has an epic fight scene, but this one had a bunch. They fight on freaking motorcycles!

enough said, if you havent seen it, do so, and make sure you watch it in japanese!

The first Shin Megami Tensei OVA

It was confusing, it was too short, and it's old. But it actually did a nice job of capturing how screwed up the early games were: evil computer programs, homosexuality, upsidedown crosses, baphomet, cerberus possessing a golden retreiver, naked little girl mystics manipulating fate through computer screens, ninja girls being possessed by giant tentacle monsters, a lesbian orgy, a human sacrifice and a gender swap ^_^/ All hail Megaten! And all hail Japan for NOT having Family Watchdog Groups!

Persona anime coming soon!
