Good thread, but I gotta move your thread to the anime section. It belongs there. Please be sure to put it in the right section next time.
While surfing the net, I stumble in an article, mostly about the new voice actors for Pokemon during its 10th anniversity, and the opinions they gave and how it sounded, in simple terms "crap".
So I wonder with my question:
Which voice actors/actresses do you like and which you don't like in any anime series? and must give a reason why for your opinion.
For pokemon, I guess they need to warm up, but if it doesn't work, then good-bye, and bring the old ones back.
Arigatou Nao chan for the sig^_^
warning, dangerous diclonious on the lose!

'Cause you give me something / That makes me scared, alright / This could be nothing / But I'm willing to give it a try / Please give me something
'Cause someday I might call you from my heart
Is it just me, or wasn't there a thread like this one before? >__>
I adore a host of voice actors, but I'll start with Tomokazu Seki, since he's so goddamn popular. You can't have watched much anime if you haven't heard of Tomokazu Seki. His voice isn't difficult to recognize, and it's really... nice? Also, he plays different roles VERY well. He's not unnatural like some voice actors; he comes across as convincingly real. He can be the most sinister baddie, he can be angelic and lovable, he can be whiny and melancholy; he can be anything his character demands, and he never fails to deliver. I can't think of another reason why I like him, except maybe a B/W poster of him in my room, in which he looks really good for some reason. (He's actually not all that good-looking)
Notable roles (at least, those that I know of ^^;; ): Chichiri (Fushigi Yūgi), Haru Glory (Rave), Shirō Kamui (X/1999 the Movie), Hidaka Ken (Weiß Kreuz), Terashima Nobuo (NANA), Chiaki Shinichi (Nodame Cantabile), Sohma Kyo (Furuba), Sagara Sousuke (FMP/Fumoffu), Yzak Jule (Gundam SEED), Kinomoto Touya (CCS), Van Fanel (Escaflowne), KAISHOUNASHI!!! (Oruchuban Ebichu)
And a picture, for the sake of it...

I love Johnny Yong Bosch. He did the English voices for:
Akira, Trigun (as Vash), Gate Keepers, Witch Hunter Robin, Wolf's Rain (as Kiba), Onegai Twins, and Bleach (as Ichigo) just to name a few.
I also love Steven Jay Blum, who is the English voice of Spike... Perfect match for the character.
And Wendee Lee who voiced Faye... Love her voice.
^_^
I heard the voice actor for naruto and the guy in the anime Steamboy are both girls...
Does most anime boy characters use girls as the voice acting? @.@
Legion Ketsueki Lives on~!!

My Siggy is in progress... just you wait... :3
I really dislike English voice actors. Tey don't have the spirit that the original voice actors have. Take Naruto -
The voices of Ino and Sakura are uber annoying, and Naruto sounds so different.
Not all English voice actors are bad. I've sat through some pretty awful English dubs, but have also had the pleasure of hearing some really great ones.
Spike'sRose already mentioned Steven Jay Blum and Wendee Lee, who are excellent in every anime they're in. I'm also a huge fan of Monica Rial (Kirika, "Noir"; Hyatt, "Excel Saga"; Izumi, "Princess Nine"), who shows incredible versatility as a voice actress, evidenced in her voicing Jo of "Burst Angel"(I didn't even recognize her). And let's not forget Jessica Cavello, who stretched her vocal chords to the absolute limit capturing the essence of the manic, fast-talking Excel, so much so that she damaged her vocal chords and had to quit midway through the series. Luci Christian, Jessica Boone, and Vic Mignogna are also great voice actors, in my opinion.
Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with Japanese voice actors (The women in "Red Garden" were well chosen, and did a fine job), but I don't think we should discount all English dubs just because of a few crappy ones.
@RayMe: From what I understand, both the original Japanese and English dubs often employ women to voice younger boys, mostly the ones who come across as silly or immature. I don't know about Steamboy, but in the English dub Naruto is voiced by Maile Flanagan, a 41-year-old voice actress from Hawaii, and in Japanese by Junko Takeuchi, a 35-year-old actress who does a lot of male characters.
Right. Now I can move on to Shinichirou Miki, who's probably just as popular as the aforementioned Tomokazu Seki. He has a record of voicing a lot of uber-cool grown-up characters - mostly with blonde/brown hair (coincidence, hmmmm?) - and I'm pretty sure that, setting the characters aside, everyone loves him because his voice is totally unique. In a good way. I mean, you can just listen to his voice being used for a random character and recognize it straightaway as "Urahara's voice!" or "Miaka's brother's voice!", depending on what you've watched and who made an impact on you.
Notable Roles (again, only those I know, because I'm too lazy to look them up)
Catan (Tenshi Kinryoku), Urahara Kisuke (Bleach), Creed Diskenth (Black Cat), Allen Shezar (Escaflowne), Fujiwara Takumi (Initial D), Shannon (Scrapped Princess), Kisaragi Seiji (Paradise Kiss), Asato Tsuzuki (Yami no Matsuei), Crim [or Klim???] (.hack//SIGN)
And pictures, of course:
