    what counts as anime

    I whas wondering this for a while now what actualy counts as anime for exsample does "Ren & Stimpy" count and what about "Computer Genarated".

    Moving to the anime section...

    I think anime has a certain unmistakable style, like for example those big anime eyes, etc.

    Wikipedia defines anime as...

    Anime in English usually refers to a style of animation originating in Japan, heavily influenced by the manga (Japanese comics) style and typically featuring characters with large eyes, big hair and elongated limbs, exaggerated facial expressions, brush-stroked outlines, limited motion and other distinctive features.
    So, its an anime if it follows the following criteria:
    • Its Animated.
    • Its produced in Japan, and for the most part, for a Japanese audience.
      • There are exceptions to this, one of them primarily being the 1980's Transformers cartoon, as that was outsourced to Japan by Hasbro, a US company, to promote its line of toys.
    • It has the style of anime (see quote above).
