Unhappy What do you guys think about anime that has been taken over by americans?

as you can see, now amercians are taking over anime, the reason im saying that is because, now they are removing all anime that they are going to licence from all anime websites, before i can watch mahoromatic, now,,....no...not anymore....youtube has erased them. and for sure after a few years, all anime wil lbe removed and we will be forced to pay in order to watch. and we MUST watch anime thats has english voice acting, which i dislike the most, because always, in my head, english voice acting sucks, only japansese voice acting and english subs are the best. bviously right im saying that i hate amercians taking over anime.

what do you guys think about this? do you think it should continue like this? or what? i think this is a very big issue here, that me a anime freak. will consider this as a big problem, since i dont want americans to take over anime. please tell me what you think ,and when it comes to a point that all of us dont want this to happen. we will definitly think of an idea to stop this. as long we are ONE!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!! This is nightmare! I hate Eng. dub! There soooooo akward! ( compared to Jap. voice over and Eng. sub with kareoke in every opening and ending theme song. . . ) Noooo!! Btw, if they're gonna be all eng. dub I'd rather read the manga . . .

Re: What do you guys think about anime that has been taken over by americans?

Well the US studioes bought the rights to all those shows. So isnt it actually illegal for it to remain to be shown on sites such as YouTube after the rights has been purchased within the country? I dunno, I'm not famaliar nor do I really care to study the laws...

Yes, when the rights are purchased and the show airs on TV its gonna be in English, this is AMERICA most ppl speak English!! You wanna watch it in Japanese w/ subs!? Well hope that its on an anime channel that you can choose the language. Otherwise BUY the DVDs, the language options will allow you to change it back. Almost all anime DVDs have this option. There are a few sad exceptions though...(=3=)

...and the US isnt "taking over" anime. Its helping expand and increase the possible audiences. Seriously, how many ppl got into anime cuz they saw anime on TV or bought a DVD in a store out of curiosity!!? Most of us, thats who.

So when did you start thinking that Anime was actually free??? The production costs for a series in Japan is in the high six figure range, with the premium series costs now running into several million dollars!!! The US license costs are approaching the five figure range per episode... So where do you think the money comes from to produce all these fine Anime series that you want to watch???

As for the English dub, you correct that most of them are of lower quality then the original Japanese sound tracks. Fortunatly, nearly all Anime series released on DVD include the original sound track...

You gotta support them so they can make the shows!? lol j/k. Sure I buy the series, but I can't go out and afford every little thing that I want to watch. What happens to the poor man, lol. Will they go without their anime fix? Guess I'll have to wait until I graduate to be able to buy as much as I like, >.<

Because they have obtained that level they are arrogant. You have to kep in mind when you talk about these guys they are kind of dorks who probably didn't excel at much and this is their only outlet to flex their muscles. Their egos would suffer no less so the the forum suffers some more. Watch one way or another they will probably repond to this post with a threat. But there are better forums out there. Re: What do you guys think about anime that has been taken over by americans?

but you guys. listen here. do you WANT TO PAY for the cost? do you like english dub?

about lenmiyata: the cost is already pay off by japan. we ....the americans(im chinese canadian) have no need to continue to pay. doesnt matter about the sound tracts here. im just talkign about. " IS IT WORTH IT TO PAY FOR A HIGH COST TO JUST WATCH A FEW EPISDOES"

about shinku no kage: the expanding on anime for the whole american to watch. let me tell you this. its not about expanding anime for the whole america to watch. is that they jsut want money. and the language as well. it should keep its own traditional. since anime is belong to japan, it should go with japanese.

about deodaclan18: there is no need to support them, japan was the one who started it. no need to support. (listen here, my father's friend work in a anime company before,...even now)...by the way what do you mean by fix. if you really want to support them. why not just send money to the anime company in japan instead of giving money to who are just taknig stuff "LEGALLY" from japan.

if i said something wrong or missed something, please send a message to me immeditly. i will e gladly to discuss this with you.(remember, dont challenge me against knowledge of anime. you will lose)

What kind of hypocrite are you? If you want to see anime, you have to be prepared to pay for it whether you are Japanese or any other nationality. Media is supposed to bring in more money than the costs to make it. That's called making profit.

On top of that, like LenMiyata mentioned, most of the anime released abroad also include the original audio with subtitles.

Now this isn't anywhere close to the truth.... Only the 'Golden Hour' prime time family shows (e.g. Naruto, Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist, Blood+) are making money off of advertising and merchandise sales. The vast majority of niche market 'Otaku' oriented anime series, (which are usually shown in the post midnight time slots) often have to pay the TV networks to show them, and depend on sales of DVDs and foreign license sales to make up the production costs. The recent trend for Japanese Anime distributors to directly enter the US market (e.g. Kadokawa Shouten, Bandai Visual USA, Dentsu's minority ownership in GENEON USA) is in part desperation to bypass the US distributors and earn revenue directly off of the US and other foreign markets. If this income does not meet expectations, these companies will have no choice but to cut back on the production of Anime. Anime production in Japan has been in a 'bubble' economy since the start of the 21st Century, and is already showing signs of decline...
