    Re: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Since watching TTGL my ability to watch and accept anime has dramatically changed. Its crazy that despite its animation and humour, it was one of the most serious animes I've seen to date.

In terms of storyline and character development the only thing I've found that can come even remotely close was Death Note.

But then, I don't have many informants when it comes to what to watch. =P

I strongly believe that TTGL is the single greatest anime of all time.

okay, but what are the faults and what is with that girl with the multiple personalities, I dont understand it at all, what with the spirals, the antispirals, the moon falling, the other gurens, the guren arc for example, I just cant keep it straight.

Bandai Entertainment has already announced a re-release scheduled for early next year which will include the English Dub, original Japanese Soundtracks plus additional extras. The subtitled only release is intended to please the collectors who had their hearts broken by the cancellation of the ADV Films release...

Along with 'Denno Coil', 'Gurren Lagann' took TV series awards at both the Tokyo International Anime Fair 2008, and the Japan Media Arts Festival in 2007. (In comparison, the last Anime TV series to pull off this trick was 'Ghost In the Shell: Stand Alone Complex'...) And having completed the first 9 episodes of this GAINAX Studio series (its a twin-pack DVD release), it does appear that it deserves both awards, combining the chaotic animation style of 'FLCL' with a legible plot (which FLCL lacked!) of a Shounen coming of age story...

And with all that said, thank you! So so much for the add to this news! I'll wait until the english dub comes out thank you. As for the wait, I can take it. I'd rather see the anime without the subtitles.
