Thread: What got you into anime??

To be honest it was because I was a little kid that loved to watch cartoons. Lucky for me my favorite "cartoons" happen to be anime. The one inparticular was Sailor Moon, and it just went from there btw I was like five when I started watching it.

hmm... I'm not overly sure. I think it's because I started watching DBZ with my brother when I was younger, Then from the interest just grew. When I got older I was able to respect and understand the artwork and story much better. But I believe that's how it started xDD

and i would see what she was watching
so i became interested in it

When I was young I watched a lot of cartoons. Some of my favorites were Marine Boy Astro Boy 8th Man and Ultra Man . At the time I did know these shows were anime(except Ultra Man that was live action). All I knew was that I loved them. As I got older I learned that they were anime from a close friend who was Japanese American and showed me more. From then on I was hooked.

Utter boredom. I started flipping channels one afternoon and stumbled upon Sailor Moon. Yeah, looking back I know it's somewhat kitschy, but I was younger back then. My thoughts were, "Hey, this ain't half bad..." and watched on.

I'm not so sure Sailor Moon would do the trick for non-fans these days...

I found manga at a local bookstore about 5 years back and it was love at first site. Then when I found out that there was a lot of anime based on manga I was in heaven, thats pretty much it.

for me its was all the childern cartoon like pokemon, rugrats and powerpuff girls which got me into older animes like DBZ, bleach and FMP
