For me the most important part of a good anime is the storyline, but a great anime needs it all story, art, music and character developement. In my opinion Saikano is the best example of an anime with a good storyline but poor artwork and I will probably get a lot of heat over this but Ghost in the Shell is one that I like the art but cannot understand what the story is
I Think It Is The Story Line! Because If The Art Is Bad No Matter What Is Will Get Better As You Get Further Into The Series! Kind Of Like Inuyasha! The Story Line Is Good But The Art Work At The Beggining Was Awful!
IN THE END IT DOSENT EVEN MATTER
I say"ART WORK ALL THE WAY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!"
besides what's the point in having a story line without awesome art work, huh?
well art work and story lines should work together,
like DBZ and Naruto or Bleach.
I would have to say that to make an anime great it has to have both great artwork and a good story line! I mean you can watch an anime and it can have a story line that sucks, but if the artwork is good then you might be more inclined to sit and watch not really paying attention to the story line. So in my personal opinion I think that they are both equally important!
bluefox,I'm glade to see you agree with me,
like really awesome art work would get someone's attention like nothing,
the story line shouldn't be bad either.
In a way....I assume that the art work and the story line has to be real good.
Maybe a good story line with not so good art could get away with it!
Vice versa! ^.^
It's already been proven that good story with average art works. I have yet to see an example of a show with a crappy storyline but great artwork that is accepted as a great anime just casue the art is good.
Also, of course both being great is the best option, but it's not on the list, so STORYLINE.
