Contradiction or not here is my opinion. There is no one favorite as so many are so complex. But a strong overall great anime is Basilisk. The art is great and the story hard. Soundtrack is excellent. I recommend this for all but especially for those who love ninjas.

Hmm I'd have to agree with beast, because it's really hard for me to decide. I usually like what ever I am watching at the moment, however I do have one's that I don't like, but that for another time

Mine is Gokusen, I'm forever a fan of Shinkumi (Shin and Yankumi) ^^

my fave anime shows are the 1's that are not on Adult Swim cuz they all suck.

Anyway, my favourite is Death Note because I like the way the story flows from one episode to the next, and the cat and mouse like battle between Light and L. When you think one of them has won, the other has a trick up their sleeve.
