Yeh Tom looked like Thomas the Train towards the end. I liked the second Tom the most actually. I also think what you all think but more so on the strength that they stopped airing shows during the week. That was a very big mistake.
well..i mean when they stopped airing the goods is where they failed. then they changed tom, and so on so forth as previously stated

Thanx Shin Ryuga!!!!
i think its because their shows werent too good.i mean naruto and dragonball(though old) were good but all the other stuff kinda bites.take that bobo-bo show.that was so gay.im sure people just either stopped watching it all together or only watched naruto on fridays(which is wut i did).
If time is just an illusion, then does that mean one's life is a waste?
I've watched Toonami ever since the beginning, and the reason why it was so popular was because it aired in the time slot from 4-6 pm on weekdays, if you watch tv now what do you usually see during those hours, some crappy cartoons and talk shows. that is why it did so well because you got to watch Big O, Outlaw Star, Robotech, Voltron, and so on. yes DBZ might have made some people tune in to see five episodes of Goku powering up but you got to see classic's that were not airing anywhere such as thundercats and sailor moon (don't laugh because back when I was growing up all we saw for anime was ronin warriors and sailor moon). but as soon as they changed the time slot to saturday it went down hill, that is why it failed b/c the audience is not their and that original time slot was perfect for showing editted anime. Adult Swim was originally cut less with editing the anime, but about 3-4 yrs. ago that too was going down hill. I believe it was Cartoon Network who killed Toonami because like I said the last few years less anime is being shown on this network and it is not because it is unpopular to watch.

Now I never liked anime until after Gundam Wing was off the air. But the one thing I do remember that made Toonami great as you stated was the time it was on. 4-6PM was a great time to air because that is when most kids are getting off of school here in the Midwest. It was also as you said the unpopular anime that Toonami aired when they switched to Saturdays. See Im old school when it comes to anime. I love the old Gundam when Zeon vs Federation was still apart of the storyline, and everyone knew and saw Cowboy Bebop.
When toonami aire from 4-6pm, thats was they most smartest thjing they did. Kids would be getting off from scholl between that time. But before they moved it to Sat., only the time was moved up to 10 pm. I feel they did that so it can be comboed up with Adult swim when it came out. And AS can be comboed with the Morning Sun. MS was like the early morning version of Toonami. But then they messed up when they took shows from Toonami and moved them to AS, for the age rating stuff. I felt that they knew that the dubbes were sucky but since alot of kids were into it regardless, they aired it none the less. but then legal rights kicked in, and they moved stuff around, when we were all use to the basics. So one by one, people started to stop watching one section as much and watch another.
Then when CN realized that people were not committed as they use to be, they just moved it to the weekends. And thats when things started to get worst for them. Then AS started to get more animes in than Toonami, both old school and new school. And not just that, I'm talking about the good ones that kept toonami up and running as long as it was (techi, outlaw star, cowboy bebop, and the list goes on...). And with that, Toonami started to die then. They tried to kept up their style, but they wanted to keep the dubbed stuff age-appropriated. But with that, they couldnt keep their old ways.
Not to wander off, but I miss Toonami alot. It was my savior when I was younger v.v
I don't think that I ment it was the anime (one mans crap could be another man's teasure) that led to the down fall of toonami but what I was trying to say was that it was CN fault for killing it, also I actually enjoyed gundam wing and g gundam because you didn't have to know about the previous gundam series in order to understand what is going on, like I said I didn't have the chance to see the original gundam because all I had in santa barbara, ca. was what was on tv, so I feel sad for the future anime fans because they won't get a chance to see something like this and discover a gundam series, bebop, or any of the other series that we got to watch on toonami, they will just think that something like naruto is what anime is about and so if they hate that show then they will think that anime is just a waste of time.
I don't want to sound wierd but I do recall my sisters loving sailor moon and hamtaro (which was shown on toonami)and these shows weren't terrible to watch, their are all kinds of different animes out their for different age groups, but CN wanted to push their own shows and programs which is a reason why they moved things around because who will miss a couple of anime in the us, that is why anime is only shown on sat. on adult swim at an unreasonable time to watch and why I don't watch CN anymore because what am I going to watch on tv, chowder? that is why I look to the internet to watch anime like on hulu, because even thought I still have to watch commercials in order to watch the show it will ensure that they will still run shows for free and expand their programming. but I agree with you, it was my savor too when I was younger.
Toonami Fails At Life.. why?
1) It's on a saturday? Why? It can be on everyday! They used to do that with Naruto at 5!
2) The DBZ dubs were like.. wtf? Thank god Funimation got it now! ( I think?..
