![]() Credits: 155,707 | I have been dying to ask is. Whyis it when there is a new anime series out that turns in to a big succes it gets turned into a card game? There are so many out there i havent had the time to learn how to play them all! I know that the first obsession of it started with Yu-Gi-Oh! And then Poke'mon! But now they have Bleach,Inuyasha, Naruto, And Even Avatar the last airbender cards! Why are trading cards such a huge obbsession? I love in rural Minnesota and finding some one to play a simple card game with up here is pritty much impossible! And now there are so many! Do you like trading cards? Do you own some? What are your thoughs about this CRAZED obsession? ![]()

It also showed the Japanese that a Trading card came that had a set of rules and system could be successful, then came Pokemon, and the rest of it snowballed.

The younger generation are playing Yu-Gi-Oh ,Poke'mon Bleach,Inuyasha, Naruto, and Avatar the last airbender cards. But that is also what score is saying in the magazens tho. |

![]() ![]() Credits: 61,124 | Re: Why cards? Because cards are an incredibly easy and cheap investment ~ as long as pre-existing artwork is used OR the cards are just translated from a Japanese version: the company in question already owns the rights to existing images for cards and needs only to print them. Printing itself is incredibly cheap... but the mark-up on little bits of paper is insane if you can create the illusion of value by making them pretty to look at and useable in some sort of game. Most card game-mechanics are plug-and-play following the Magic or Pokemon model and it's easy enough to promote a game for a year and then stop printing it entirely when interest wears down. "collectable" anything has quite a bit of appeal... especially in societies where children and young teenagers have too much money and nothing to do with it. (I think you guys actually have more anime CCGs than we do. We've got Yu-gi-oh and Duel Masters right now... that's about it. Other cards may exist... but no one uses them. Kids are too obsessed with the card/arcade game thing here... Love and Berry, Wanchan to Issyo, Mushikingu, Kirarin Revolution, etc.)
