Contribution Drive: Month 1 ~ Comments
We're trying desperately to breathe some life into the gallery, but we need your help.
So, every month I'm going to award a very cool prize to the person who makes the most significant or valuable contribution to the gallery in a number of categories. Each week will have a different category of contribution and focus on a different aspect of the gallery.
Things you should know:
- We value quality over quantity. 500 submissions that took you very little time and effort may count only as much as 1 fabulous submission that obviously took a great deal of work. High quality submissions trump low quality ones. Detailed, specific comments are better than "cool" or "awesome!"
- You are still subject to all gallery rules. Those breaking the rules will find their submissions deleted and their mailbox full of infractions.
- Plagiarism (even one count) will result in you being ineligable for the prize.
- You do not need to enter this contest! EVERYONE is automatically entered. To win, you need to impress us with your gallery presence. The more active you are, the more likely we'll decide to recognize your efforts.
- I'm not judging this one! And I won't tell you who is~! So going through the gallery and commenting on all my submissions, pm-ing me gushing praise or uploading a ton of material from my favorite anime isn't going to get you any special treatment (sorry!)
This Month's focus: COMMENTS
Comment on any submissions in any gallery in a helpful, thoughful and hopefully encouraging manner. More comments will, naturally result in a better outcome for you... but keep in mind that sincere, specific, spell-checked comments stand to gain you more brownie points than copy-pasting "it are teh rocks!1!1!1!"
At the end of the month, we will reward whoever has contributed the most to the gallery in terms of comments.
What you're fighting for:
Nitroplus Characters: The First Bullet 2004 figure ~ Al Azif (center)

link: Nitroplus CHARACTERS The First Bullet - ƒfƒ‚ƒ“ƒxƒCƒ“.com
Al Azif herself is 4.5 inches long and 2 inches high
The entire figure (w/ inflatable bed, which is actually transparent) is 5 inches long and 2.5 inches high
She is wearing green panties... and yes, you can see them, but only if you're looking...
I am a rabid Nitroplus fan and this is from my own collection. So you'd better earn her!
An unlimited number of honorable mentions may also be rewarded and sent small gifts in the form of Neon Genesis Evangelion sticker sheets (official ones, not the Chinatown knock-offs). Of course, the winner will get one too ^^v
Go forth and comment! Feel free to use this thread to put in a good word for other members or to keep track of your own progress.
Re: Contribution Drive: Month 1 ~ Comments
I have two figurines from demonbane.com (Picked them up at a Convention last year, someone was reselling them). They're phenomenal and of extremely high quality.
Re: Contribution Drive: Month 1 ~ Comments
Hey Tsurara, do you know how much are those figurines worth in US dollars? I want to know because if i win this contest i might sell it to some Otaku dude i know.
Re: Contribution Drive: Month 1 ~ Comments
They were originally about $6 in blind-packed boxes, though it was a limited run from 1994. Al Azif is the most popular character in the set, so she's generally worth more in resale. I've seen her running $15-25 at used capsule shops in Japan. But, like anything, she's only worth as much as you're willing to pay for her :)
Re: Contribution Drive: Month 1 ~ Comments
This looks pretty interesting i know ill try to partake in this one.Well hopefully this spers more people to go to the gallery to upload and comment on others work.
Re: Contribution Drive: Month 1 ~ Comments
...Al Azif!!? Really!? Oh man...awesome tsurara-san, giving out stuff out of your own collection!? You really do work hard to improve AO's gallery.
...now I'm really going to start commenting more in the gallery than usual...although I should be doing so without having to go for a "prize". LOLs ^w^;
Re: Contribution Drive: Month 1 ~ Comments
Thank you Tsurara for a lovely idea. I can see you really have the passion for AO and this is much appreciated.
Thank you again.
Re: Contribution Drive: Month 1 ~ Comments
Question: Since this started up on the 28th of September meaning there was less than 3days of the month left, is this "Contribution Drive:Comments", gonna go through til the end of October or is there a new one for Oct in the works?
