my dear friends I said "fight" ... I never said "Duel" ...
let me clear my point of view ... ;):
Roy mustang is a soldier ... he was ordered to enter and destroy the city of Ishibal ... he killed many many innocent people including that boy ... he wasn't happy about what was he doing ... but it's orders ... when he killed the two doctors later in that war ... he made a promise with himself to never obey irrational orders like that ... that's why he is trying to be the fuhrer ... to prevent killing innocent people like that ...
so ... when he was in the "Duel" with Ed ... when he won and about to finish Ed ... he remembered that unhappy memories ... about killing that kid ... who should be playing around peacefully and protected by the military not killed by them ... because Ed after all is kid too ...

Fight or duel, it wasn't either of those two anyway.
And by "killing those two doctors" you don't mean the Rockbells do you? Winry's parents? Because they were killed by Scar.

actualy, i do think mustang killed them, cap'n. but i could be wrong. cuz marcho was talking about it, remember? well, at least in the anime...

well ... Roy Mustang confessed that he killed them in front of Winry, Ed, Al, Armistrong ... and the others on episode 43 ... I'm watching it now ... !!

Then they apparently changed that from the manga because Scar clearly killed the Rockbells in the manga.

I agree with you bacause yes he did have more experience and He wouldn't even have to get close to hit him while most of Ed's attacks only work up close.

i think that mustang wouls win that fight^^ he has lots of experience because
of the war ans so that also makes him strong and he knows waht it takes to defeat his enemies^^
