A lot of battles end like that. It may not be the most honorable, skill determining, or spectacular battle, but 1 man would be left standing and that man would clearly be ED. You blink you lose, very simple logic.

Now if it were another battle, same time, no mock, and Roy didn't have his flashbacks and everything was done the right way, Roy would obviously be the winner. Ed did not have the experience he had at the end of the series, nor did he have the knowledge of his opponent. Roy, had the experience, the knowledge, the first strike, and surprise on his side.

That isn't much of a comparison. The only way ED had a chance within the first 20 seconds was because he ran behind people like a coward. Now I understand that obstacles and terrain are a main facotry when in war, but on a flat open surface, it is clear that ED would stand absolutely no chance.

From what I saw, it is kinda hard to fight against a single man on the outskirts of town with an ability to demolish half a city in one snap. He obviously wasn't in too much danger now was he? As I recall, the Ishbalans were suppose to be the innocent ones, not the states military. Isn' that the reason for "Dogs of the state"? They obviously fulfilled their duty and death/destruction was it. They were killing machines and were used as such.
