Beck: mongolian chop squad

OK well i know this has been airing as an anime in canada or some time now so i got interested in the Manga. I was wondering if anyone knows this anime/manga and finds it as unique as i do.

The manga is about s 14 year old boy who didn't have much to write in his autobiography until he met an obnoixous 16 year old who invited him to a band called Beck that was playing live in places, thats all i know so far.
